Election of the new Student and New Graduate Member Representative

At the last meeting of the AAQ Board of Directors on October 25, 2024, the Board confirmed the election by acclamation of Hélène Côté as the new Student and New Graduate Member Representative.

Hélène Côté has a diverse academic background, including an LL.L. (Licence en droit) and an LL.M. (Maîtrise en droit) from the Université de Montréal, and a D.E.A. from the Université Panthéon-Assas (Paris II). She also holds a New Directions for Attorneys certificate from Pace University School of Law in New York, USA.

She is a retired member of the Quebec Bar and a member of the Canadian Bar Association.

She is currently pursuing a multidisciplinary bachelor's degree at Université Laval, in which she is completing a second certificate in archiving after having obtained a first certificate in professional revision.

Professionally, she has taught at Université de Montréal's Faculty of Law, worked as a federal prosecutor in Montreal, and held management positions in educational and administrative institutions such as the Délégation du Québec à New York and the French American School of New York.

Her community involvement is equally important, including religious teaching and accompanying the elderly.

Finally, she is very active on several boards and professional associations, including the Alliance française de Westchester (AFW), the Association des femmes diplômées des universités (AFDU) - Québec, Réviseurs Québec, a chapter of the Canadian Association of Revisers (Réviseurs Canada). She is also involved in national issues for Reviseurs Canada.
