Live from the convention - Robert Garon and Volunteer of the Year awards
Two awards were presented today at the convention: the Robert Garon Award, which recognizes the outstanding work and achievements of a public or private organization that has contributed to the development of archival science and records management, and the President's Award (Volunteer of the Year), which recognizes and highlights the volunteer work of Association members.
The Robert-Garon prize was awarded to the Société d'histoire et de généalogie Maria-Chapdelaine (SHGMC) for their LaVoute.tv project, carried out in collaboration with the Regroupement des services d'archives privées agréés du Québec (RSAPAQ). The award was accepted by Marie-Chantale Savard, archivist, and presented by Anny Beaulieu, member of the selection jury.
Congratulations to the LaVoute.tv team!
The President's Volunteer of the Year Award was presented to Isabelle Dion in recognition of her many years of involvement with the AAQ and her constant support. The award was presented by AAQ President Cynthia Viau-Mainville. During her speech, Isabelle reiterated her desire to pursue her involvement, particularly in the redesign of certification, in order to continue to raise the profile of the archival profession.
Congratulations Isabelle and thank you for your involvement!
