Call for projects - traditional music & archives
The AAQ invites its members to take a look at the call for projects below:
The Conseil québécois du patrimoine vivant (CQPV) is launching a call for projects in trad music (and dance if applicable) in collaboration with the University of Toronto Scarborough, the Canadian Museum of History and Memorial University.
Musicians, composers and creators are invited to generate audio (or audio-visual) artistic content in connection with the Jean Trudel archive, which is currently in the process of being restored. Jean Trudel archive, which includes a series of traditional instrumental musical pieces, as well as a number of interviews, dances and folk songs. Candidates may, for example, use audio extracts in their creations, interpret pieces by creating new arrangements, make a short musical film, devise technological tools or other innovative ideas.
Works produced in this way must be suitable for use in the field and online (listening or public viewing) during activities associated with the promotion of the Jean Trudel fonds by the CQPV and its partners, in particular during its public presentation at a number of Quebec trad festivals in the summer of 2026.
For the second year, two $3,500 projects will be selected by the jury.
