Support for the collective for access to Quebec's historic aerial photographs

The AAQ invites its members to take note of the invitation from the Collectif pour l'accès aux photographies aériennes historiques du Québec and to support this initiative:

"These visual archives represent an essential resource for our work in land use planning, environmental management, forestry, scientific research and many other strategic fields. Preserving them and making them freely available would be a major step forward in informed decision-making and understanding the evolution of Quebec's landmass.

By facilitating access to these data, the competent authorities would enable public and para-public organizations to improve the effectiveness of their interventions, optimize their spatial analyses and contribute to the enhancement of Québec's geographical heritage. We therefore encourage any initiative aimed at preserving and disseminating these photographs, so that they can be put to good use for the benefit of Quebec society as a whole."
