Spotlight on Gracen Brilmyer, archivist and lecturer at McGill University's School of Information Studies
For this latest edition of Spotlight, the Professional Affairs Committee highlights the work of Gracen Brilmyer and the Disability Archives Lab.
An archivist and teacher at McGill University's School of Information Studies, he runs the Disability Archives Lab, which enables projects to be set up with people with disabilities. He has just received funding from a foundation that will enable him to create new opportunities to finance inclusive initiatives. Thanks to this donation, a program of internships in Montreal community archives will be available to McGill University archival students.
"One of the main objectives of this project is to give people from historically marginalized or minority communities access to archives that tell stories similar to their own," explains the archivist in the McGill Reporter of January 10, 2025.
Bravo to Gracen Brilmyer for this great initiative!
