The International Council on Archives unveils its program for International Archives Week (June 9-13)

The next International Archives Week 2025 will take place from Monday June 9 to Friday June 13.

Since 2007, June 9 has been celebrated as International Archives Day ; this date was chosen to commemorate the day the ICA was founded in 1948, under the auspices of UNESCO. In 2019, the ICA expanded the event to cover an entire week. Every year since then, the week has been a powerful opportunity to highlight the essential role archives play in preserving the past, understanding the present and building the future.

This year, for our seventh edition, and under the theme #ArchivesAccessibles - Archives for everyone, we're looking to make an even greater impact through enhanced collaboration between the international and public sectors. We want to highlight the fundamental role of archives in building an inclusive and connected world.

This year's celebrations will include:

• Lightning speeches
• The #ArchivesAccessible card
• #IAW Open Agenda
