The AAQ invites its members to take note of the invitation below from the Regroupement des archivistes religieux:

The Regroupement des archivistes religieux is pleased to invite its members to the training and discussion day Faire face à la tempête : les dossiers sensibles. This event will take place on Friday, November 7, 2025, at the Musée des Ursulines de Trois-Rivières, 734 rue des Ursulines, Trois-Rivières.

Our colleagues Cassandra Fortin (Centre d'archives Mgr-Antoine-Racine, Sherbrooke) and Caroline Brunet (Archives OMI Deschâtelets) will be offering two lectures and a workshop to share our practices and experiences. Also on the program: a visit to the Ursuline Museum and Archives in Trois-Rivières!

Sooner or later, archivists are obliged to work with archives that could be described as "problematic", particularly in the context of legal proceedings. In responding to their employer's expectations, but also to legal requirements, archivists can quickly find themselves in an uncomfortable, even painful situation. When lawyers' access requests flood in and deadlines accelerate, it's reassuring to know that other archivists have already been through this ordeal. How can we prepare for these situations? What is the impact on the archivist's day-to-day operations? And when the media machine goes into overdrive, are there any priority practices to put in place?
