The AAQ invites its members to take note of the creation of two new awards presented by the Canadian Association of Librarians in Higher Education (CAHLE). You'll find the official press release below:
The Awards Committee of the Canadian Association of Librarians in Higher Education is pleased to announce the creation of two new prestigious awards: the Early Career Researcher Award and the Student Research Award.
Early Career Award
The award, which includes a $500 bursary and a one-year membership to ACBES, is designed to encourage and recognize research excellence among early-career professional academic librarians. It is open to graduates of a master's program in library and information science within the last five years.
Group submissions are welcome, with prize money divided among the winners.
Submission deadline: January 31, 2025
Student Research Award
The award, which includes a $500 bursary and a one-year membership to ACBES, is designed to encourage original academic research in library and information science.
It is open to Master's students in library and information science who have recently written an unpublished work that demonstrates original academic research relevant to academic libraries or academic librarianship. Group submissions are welcome, with the prize money divided among the winners.
Submission deadline: March 1, 2025
